Marta Vega, 70, of Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born in Camuy, Puerto Rico on December 5, 1954. She grew up in New York before settling in Worcester, MA.
Marta’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, resilience, and joy. She found delight in the simple pleasures—watching her favorite shows like Friends, The Big Bang Theory, and her beloved telenovelas. She enjoyed listening to the timeless classics like The Temptations and Gladys Knight & the Pips. Her anthem, “I Will Survive,” reflected the strength and spirit with which she lived her life.
She was a nurturing mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a devoted wife. Marta cherished every moment spent with her family. Her legacy continues on in the hearts of those she raised and loved.
Throughout her life, Marta served her community as a Teaching Assistant, a Personal Care Assistant, and a homemaker. Her work touched many lives, and she is fondly remembered.
Marta is survived by her loving husband, Miguel Antonio Vega; her sons, Miguel and Luis; her grandchildren, Selena, Pedro, Ben, Kayla, JJ, and Anayah; and her great-grandson, Emanuel. She also leaves behind her sister, Josephine and her brothers Julio and Vidal. Her spirit now rises to meet her father Julio, her mother Josefa, her brother Carlos, and her son Pedro.
“You faced life’s storms with a fearless heart, never crumbling, never fading. And though the music has quieted, your rhythm remains—echoing in our laughter, pulsing in our memories. You survived, you soared, and now you rest, eternal and undefeated.”
Calling hours will be held on Thursday September 11th, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm at Graham, Putnam and Mahoney Funeral Parlors 838 Main St Worcester, Ma 01610. Funeral Service will be on Friday September 12th, 2025, at 10am follow by a burial at Hope Cemetery in Worcester, Ma.

A lo largo de su vida, Marta sirvió a su comunidad como asistente de enseñanza, asistente de cuidado personal y ama de casa. Su trabajo tocó muchas vidas y es recordada con cariño.
A Marta le sobreviven su amado esposo, Miguel Antonio Vega; sus hijos, Miguel y Luis; sus nietos, Selena, Pedro, Ben, Kayla, JJ y Anayah; y su bisnieto, Emanuel. También deja atrás a su hermana, Josephine y a sus hermanos Julio y Vidal. Su espíritu ahora se eleva al encontrarse con su padre Julio, su madre Josefa, sus hermanos Carlos y su hijo Pedro.
